Grassroots Democracy vs Corporate Oligarchy
This proposed takeover would limit the NRC to 3 members on a 30 person KAB board. The 3 NRC representatives would be selected by the same NRC board that has haphazardly sailed the NRC into these dire straits, and even these 3 hand-picked NRC representatives would be subject to further approval by the other existing KAB board members. The NRC was created to be a democratic, grassroots, member-driven organization. A vote for this takeover is a vote to replace a system of grassroots democracy with a system of corporate oligarchy. I don't understand why anybody interested in serious long term sustainable solutions to litter and pollution problems would support this proposal.

I agree with this assessment. If you review the terms of the "combination" proposal available at www.SAVETHENRC.org, it is clear that the hand-picked NRC representation on the KAB Board will be about ten percent. The "voice of recycling" will be constrained to a whisper.
